Targeted Therapies Through Gut

Oral drug delivery holds promise for treating non-gastrointestinal diseases but faces barriers like intestinal permeability and low bioavailability. Targeted nanoparticles using ligands like chitosan, butyrate, and yeast capsules improve absorption and release. Despite progress in crossing the intestinal barrier to treat conditions like cancer and fibrosis, challenges in stability and efficacy remain key considerations.
