Abstract

Military service members are at heightened risk for skin cancer due to several unique occupational hazards. Despite long-standing recognition of this issue, prevention strategies have not been maximally utilized. This article presents actionable, policy-driven solutions for prevention and immediate response to this issue by identifying current gaps in knowledge and exploring modifiable risk factors. Primary recommendations include enhanced education, improved access to sunscreen, uniform modifications, and standardized screening guidelines in the electronic Periodic Health Assessment (ePHA).
