Abstract

This letter proposes a novel approach to dual-mode resonant sectorial dipole antennas by incorporating a loop balancing device only. The loop balancing device is conformally bonded to the radius and circumference of the sectorial dipole and serves as a shielded, full-wavelength loop antenna. As a result, an additional low-frequency resonance can be incorporated into the sectorial dipole to yield a wideband, balanced design without increasing antenna size or introducing external perturbations.
