In this case, the profiles of both the general and simplified Dirac solitons are well maintained during propagation. Abstract
We analytically derive the general Dirac soliton solutions in a binary waveguide array with Kerr nonlinearity. These Dirac soliton solutions are more precise and more general than the simplified Dirac soliton solutions found earlier in binary waveguide arrays. The simplified Dirac soliton solutions can be straightforwardly obtained from the general Dirac soliton solutions under certain conditions. In this case, the profiles of both the general and simplified Dirac solitons are well maintained during propagation. In other cases, the general Dirac solitons better conserve their profiles during propagation than the simplified Dirac solitons.
