The role and tasks of National Metrological Institutions in regular training of metrologists

Abstract

The development of the national metrology system is important for supporting scientific progress, innovations, technologies and competitiveness of enterprises of any country. For this, specialists must be able to work in all sectors of the economy. The shortage of professional human resources in the field of metrology and the need for their continuous development are still felt by many countries of the world. The paper is devoted to issues of development and functioning of the national infrastructure of training and advanced training for specialists in the field of information and measurement technologies. The structure of higher and postgraduate education in this field in Ukraine is described. It was established that the need for retraining of personnel for national metrology system a common practice for national metrological institute. Continuous training and advanced training of metrological personnel in the field of legal metrology and specific types of measurements is a necessary reality today.
