Abstract

This work presents the results of measurements of the hyperfine structure for electronic levels belonging to odd-parity configurations of the terbium atom with high quantum number J. Laser spectroscopy with laser-induced fluorescence detection was used. The hyperfine structure of 80 terbium lines was recorded in three spectral regions. The hyperfine structure constants were determined for 47 levels with quantum number J values between 9/2 and 17/2.
Exactly 30 of those levels have not been studied so far; for the remaining 17 levels the precision of the constants was improved.
