[Myeloma and infectious risk: what role for the advanced practice nurse?]

Abstract

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a hematological malignancy associated with a high risk of infection. Patient empowerment, through autonomy and decision-making, is crucial to improving treatment and quality of life. This study explores the experience of MM patients in managing infectious risk, their perceived obstacles and levers, and their approach to therapeutic education. Among other things, the results show that advanced practice nurses can play a key role in supporting patients' autonomy and actively involving them in their care.
