Abstract
Enthesitis is one of the key manifestations in spondyloarthritis, both in its axial and peripheral manifestations. An adequate diagnostic approach is essential to recognize involvement of the entheses, which is often difficult to detect by physical examination alone. Different clinical indexes that can be used in clinical practice have been developed to aid in the systematic screening of the most important enthesitis. From an imaging point of view, ultrasound is currently considered the gold standard test for the evaluation and diagnosis of enthesitis. The MASEI is the most commonly used index for assessment. Both a plain x-ray and magnetic resonance imaging are tests that can help in making a proper diagnosis in the entheseal involvement of these diseases.
