Abstract

This paper presents a calculation of the exciting cavity of the klystron taking into account the beam current. The beam current loading and the frequency shifting of the cavity are estimated. The value of the external quality factor for the complete matching of the cavity with the external line taking into account the beam current is obtained. The energy gain by the particles during the flight of the cavity is calculated. An analysis is given for the nonideal matching of the cavity with the external line. The characteristics of the manufactured klystron cavity are discussed. The results of measuring its characteristics with the beam current are presented.
