Abstract

Grid-forming controls transform the way converter-interfaced renewable resources interact with the power grid, and their impact on angle stability is still not well-known. This paper analyzes the effect of grid-forming controls on the stability of a grid after a severe disturbance consisting of a short-circuit followed by a power system split.
