Abstract
An approach to transparent monolithic polycarbonate fracture diagnostics based on the piezoelectric effect is considered. It was shown that the ΔU/U parameter decreases by at least 10 times before the polycarbonate sample begins to be destroyed. It was shown that the electrodes location influence the changes in the piezoelectric voltage. The location of electrodes along the edge of the sample can provide the best conformity between the piezoelectric voltage and the reaction force of the sample to bending deformation.

Doklady Physics is a journal that publishes new research in physics of great significance. Initially the journal was a forum of the Russian Academy of Science and published only best contributions from Russia in the form of short articles. Now the journal welcomes submissions from any country in the English or Russian language. Every manuscript must be recommended by Russian or foreign members of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
