Abstract
Serratia odorifera is one of the 24 different validly published and correct name species belonging to the genus Serratia. This agent is rarely reported to cause human infections. We describe a rare case of multidrug-resistant S. odorifera, which colonized the urine of a 56-year-old immunocompetent woman with no medical history and no urinary symptoms. The patient was admitted for prosthetic surgery on the left hip for advanced ankylosing osteoarthritis. Preoperative treatment with Imipinem eradicated the bacteria.
