Abstract
The reaction of the diferrocenylphosphenium ion, [Fc2P]+ (Fc = ferrocenyl) with PhEEPh (E = S, Se, Te), FcSeSeFc and dibenzo[1,2]diselenine (biphenSe2) gave rise to the formation of the bis(arylchalcogenido) diferrocenylphosphonium ions [Fc2P(SPh)2]+, [Fc2P(SePh)2]+, [Fc2P(TePh)2]+, [Fc2P(SeFc)2]+ and [Fc2P(Se2biphen)]+, which were utilised for the chalcogen bond (ChB)-mediated Michael addition of 1-methylindole and trans-β-crotonophenone.
