Abstract
Inspired by our biosynthetic hypothesis for alanense A, we developed two distinct methods for the deoxygenative arylation of α-N-phthalimido-oxy isobutyrate (NPIB), derived from hydroxyl groups adjacent to or conjugated with a carbonyl moiety.
