Abstract

The reduction with sebacic acid dihydrazide of the peroxide products of cyclooctene ozonolysis in different solvents leads, depending on the solvent, to three acyclic differently functionalized cyclooctene derivatives: methyl 11,20-dioxo-9,10,21,22-tetraazadocos-8E-enoic acid is formed in methanol, 11,20-dioxo-9,10,21,22-tetraazadocos-8E-enoic acid in methylene chloride, and natural cortic acid in THF.
