How to realize digital knowledge innovation through digital technology? A perspective based on knowledge digitization and inter-organizational knowledge sharing

Grounded in social interaction theory, this paper uses partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine the relationship between digital technology, knowledge digitization, inter-organizational knowledge sharing, and digital knowledge innovation. The results show that digital technology has a significant positive effect on digital knowledge innovation. Furthermore, digital technology positively impacts digital knowledge innovation by enhancing both knowledge digitization and inter-organizational knowledge sharing. Meanwhile, knowledge digitization and inter-organizational knowledge sharing play a significant serial mediating role between the two. This research investigates the mechanisms through which digital technology (DT) influences digital knowledge innovation (DKI), and the roles of knowledge digitization (KD) and inter-organizational knowledge sharing (IKS).
