Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of healthcare research, the demand for medical data has become indispensably vital. Additionally, incentivising owners to share their health data while maintaining privacy and security is a key challenge. By leveraging the potential of blockchain technology, a solution can be developed to tackle these challenges. This paper presents a novel framework to enable secure medical data sharing and monetisation that utilises the inherent features of blockchain to establish a robust and transparent framework. The blockchain ensures tamper-proof storage, transparent data transactions, enhancing trust and data integrity. The framework's privacy-preserving features enable data owners to securely contribute and access medical data while maintaining control over their information. Furthermore, the framework introduces a unique monetisation mechanism for sharing data by incorporating stablecoin. Smart contracts and encryption techniques enhance data security and enforce consent-based data usage. The framework has the potential to revolutionise medical research, driving advancements in diagnosis, treatment, and public health. Finally, the experimental evaluation, analysis and comparison with the state-of-the-art-works prove the efficiency of the framework.
