Abstract

Erythroderma is a serious dermatological syndrome characterized by prolonged erythema and scaling, affecting more than 80 % of the body surface. Erythroderma can have multiple etiologies, the most common of which are grouped under the acronym PALM (psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, lymphoproliferative disorders, and medications). Nevertheless, the clinical presentation is similar regardless of the cause. In this article, we will discuss the most common causes of acquired erythroderma in adults, the diagnostic approach, and treatment management, although the latter strongly depends on its etiology.
