Abstract
An operationally simple complementary oxidative dimerization of anilines to the corresponding azoxy derivatives by means of AgNO3 catalysis in the presence of H2O2 as the oxidant is described. Unusual activation of CC triple bonds in the presence of AgNO3-H2O2 and amines is expected to facilitate advancements in the applications for silver catalysis in organic synthesis.
