Abstract

It is of great concern regarding the safety of ground structures located on a considerably large depth of silty soil, where reliable foundation design and treatment are required. Taking a challenging project located in the municipality of Pakil, Philippines as an example, three practical, creative and economic ideas regarding deep soil foundation treatment are proposed in this paper to address such kind of tricky problem:

The three ideas proposed above to some extent represent the latest state-of-art of correlative engineering measures, whereas further research and analysis and construction technique assurance are called for before implementation.
