Abstract

During the thermal destruction of the solid nanocluster polyoxometalate (POM) Mo132 of the keplerate type, electric charges appeared in the samples due to the release of amphiphilic ionized molecular species into the environment. The sample–ground potential difference reached 100 V or more; the charge sign was determined by the presence or absence of a moderate electromagnetic field effect. In the study of the photodestruction of POM Mo132 in aqueous solutions, a photogalvanic potential difference between the electrodes placed above and below in solution was observed. Fluctuations of the potential difference were also detected due to polarization/depolarization in the near-electrode zones, caused by different rates of diffusion of counterions from the upper and lower parts of solution.
