Atypical clinical presentation of oral erosive lichen planus: case report

In the reported case, despite the patient not presenting skin lesions, she was referred to a dermatologist due to the side effects that the medication was causing, combined with the morbidity of the OLP lesions affecting her quality of life. Abstract

Lichen planus is a mucocutaneous disease that often affects the oral cavity (OLP). Its etiology is still unclear, but it has been considered an autoimmune disease. OLP can manifest in various forms, with the most common being the reticular. This is characterized by the presence of white lines on the buccal mucosa bilaterally.
