Abstract
Both epidemiologic and preclinical models of OA provide strong support for modulation of the Wnt signaling pathway as a druggable target for painful knee OA. This paper reviews the clinical studies that have been performed with Wnt signaling modulating agents for knee OA treatment and makes recommendations to study earlier disease and administer treatments for a longer duration.
