Abstract
Daytime sleepiness is not necessarily caused by a lack of sleep. Even adequate sleep duration can be accompanied by reduced recovery during sleep. Common sleep disorders include insomnia, obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) and restless legs syndrome (RLS). Insomnia - disturbed sleep quality combined with impaired daytime well-being - affects up to 15% of the population, OSA 13-30% and RLS up to 10%. Diagnosis and treatment depend on the respective symptoms.
