[Lifestyle and chronic kidney disease prevention].

Abstract

Hygienic and dietary measures could not only help reduce the risk of developing chronic kidney disease (CKD) but also could slow its progression. Unlike pharmacological treatments, which are often associated with side effects, high costs and significant ecological impact, these measures offer an accessible, sustainable and low-risk strategy. While their usefulness in preventing cardiovascular disease is undeniable, their effectiveness in the context of CKD remains debated. The implementation of these measures often requires strict and long-term adherence, which proves challenging for many patients. Moreover, scientific evidence on their direct impact in slowing the progression of CKD remains limited and sometimes contradictory.
