Abstract

The influence of the SnO2 proportions on the activity of Pt/C+SnO2 catalysts was examined. The results verified that Pt particles were evenly spread on the carriers. The Pt/C+SnO2 catalysts demonstrated better electrooxidation activity than the Pt/C. The SnO2 could carrier OHads groups. The OHads promoted the oxidation of COads and released the Pt active sites. The Pt/C+SnO2 catalyst with 20 % (mass) SnO2 demonstrated the excellent activity and stability for Di-Methyl Ether (DME) oxidation. Excessive SnO2 might hide the active sites of Pt, which would lead to the decrease of catalyst performance.
