This study aimed to develop the hospital hygiene standard precautions scale: cleaning staff version. <i>Methods</i>. The sample of this methodological study consisted of 330 hospital cleaning staff. The scale was systematically developed in nine stages. The content, face, structure and convergent validity were investigated in the validity analysis. The internal consistency coefficient and test-retest analyses, internal consistency coefficients and intraclass coefficient correlation of the scale were performed during the reliability analysis. <i>Results.</i> A structure consisting of five dimensions and 19 items with factor loads ranging from 0.86 to 0.32 and explaining 51.16% of the total variance was detected during principal component analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the five-dimensional structure was confirmed. The internal consistency coefficient of the scale total was calculated as 0.82 and the intraclass coefficient correlation value as 0.99. <i>Conclusion</i>.
