Abstract

Bioengineered Microenvironment Modeling

The cover of article 2304003 by Alessandro Grattoni and co-workers depicts the cross section of a bioengineered subcutaneous vascularized implant for cell encapsulation with local delivery of immunosuppressants. Alongside, a computational model, accounting for cell and vascular density, predicts oxygen and drugs distribution within the microenvironment.
