Abstract

Radioligand therapy (RLT) represents a major breakthrough in oncology, enabling targeted systemic cancer treatment while reducing damage to healthy tissues. However, several barriers prevent equitable access to RLT across Europe, ranging from the limited availability of radionuclides to infrastructure and awareness challenges. The RLT Academy (RadioLigand Therapy Academy), coordinated by professor Christophe Deroose, is an Erasmus+ initiative aimed at promoting RLT adoption in Europe through education, training, and policy recommendations. This article examines the primary accessibility challenges for RLT and discusses the goals and activities of the RLT Academy to improve patient access to RLT. Additionally, it explores the need for public and policy awareness and a collaborative effort to integrate RLT into European healthcare systems.
