Squamous cell carcinoma of the bronchus associated with human papillomavirus infection

Abstract

A woman in her 70s presented with an abnormal chest radiograph. Chest computed tomography showed a tumor arising from the intermediate bronchus. A bronchoscopic biopsy revealed squamous cell carcinoma, and right middle and lower bilobectomy was subsequently carried out. Histopathological examination of the resected specimen revealed squamous cell carcinoma associated with human papillomavirus infection.
