Abstract

It's not uncommon for nonprofit board members to be reticent about the fundraising-related aspects of their positions. But even those least willing and able to help out in this area typically have a solid understanding of why it's needed and what it entails. After all, most organizations rely at least somewhat—if not exclusively—on donations to keep their operations running, and most boards are involved to some degree, whether its attending galas and schmoozing with donors, or doing thank-you calls afterward.
