Confinement can have many important effects when there is zero potential within. But the effect may even become more important if the gas experiences a potential. Using a potential which is a variance of the supersymmetric partner of the particle in a box, we have shown that there is a significant change in thermodynamic properties such as internal energy, Helmholtz free energy, entropy and heat capacity. Abstract
Thermodynamic quantities of a classical gas enclosed in a finite size container are examined. Confinement can have many important effects when there is zero potential within. But the effect may even become more important if the gas experiences a potential. Using a potential which is a variance of the supersymmetric partner of the particle in a box, we have shown that there is a significant change in thermodynamic properties such as internal energy, Helmholtz free energy, entropy and heat capacity.
