Abstract
The paper presents research findings of the structure and properties of pure titanium surface after reverse-polarity plasma cutting. The arc current and plasma gas are varied in the supply system. It is shown that in the best cutting conditions, it is possible to minimize the surface oxidation, cut geometry distortion, depth of the heat-affected and melting zones. The excess heat input into the material results in the cut geometry distortion. The insufficient heat input leads to the material folding, and at very low heat input, the alloy sheet cannot be cut to its full depth.
