Abstract
The paper studies the influence of the chromium and boron powder mixture on the structure and wear resistance of the 0.12 C-18Cr-9Ni-Ti steel after electron-beam surfacing. Electron-beam surfacing of powder mixtures provides hardening of 4‑mm thick coatings deposited onto the steel surface. Electron-beam surfaced coatings contain chromium boride. Powder mixtures are selected to gain the wear resistance 2 and 4 times higher than that of the hardened steel in friction against rigidly and non-rigidly fixed abrasive particles, respectively.
