Abstract

REBCO is a representative commercial High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) material. It has great potential for high field applications for instance Tokamak. REBCO is a 2D film with anisotropy. When using tape to wind no-insulation (NI) coil for Toroidal Field (TF) magnet, the thermal stability is guaranteed. However, the Central Solenoid (CS) and Poloidal Field (PF) magnet is working with dynamic pulse field, which may affect the TF magnet. The pulse field perpendicular to the tape of TF magnet can lead screening current or critical current (I C ) degradation. In this article, a 58*2 turns D-shaped NI is fabricated as TF magnet. The pulse background field, provided by insulation solenoid coil, is applied on coil to find out its dynamic response at 77 K. Multiple voltage taps are used to monitor the local behavior of NI coil. And high-speed data acquisition system is installed to measure the local voltage. In the results, a typical non-zero voltage is observed.
