Study on flame retardant and smoke suppression of EPDM by sepiolite expansion flame retardant system

The flame retardant and smoke suppression properties of AEGS and PEGS on EPDM matrix composites were investigated. The experimental results show that the LOI values of EPDM/AEGS3 and EPDM/PEGS3 composites with 3 phr K-SEP are 8.1% and 5.5% higher than those of the blank samples without sepiolite. Abstract

A large amount of smoke will be produced during the combustion of ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM), which seriously endangers the environment and personal safety.
