The article considers formation of academic subject and scientific discipline "Public Health and Organization of Health Care" in Russia during 1963-2023. The role of Yu. P. Lisitsyn, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, and his disciples in improving educational process, scientific substantiation of medical organizational measures that contributed into improvement of health of various population groups.
