Abstract

We present the first analytical demonstration of the existence and propagating characteristics of chirped nonautonomous periodic waves with constant background in an inhomogeneous spin-1/2 Bose-Einstein condensate system with temporally varying pair-transition effects and gain or loss. We find that such periodic waveforms can exist in cn-cn, sn-sn as well as in dn-dn configurations with background, which can transform into new kinds of nonautonomous solitons on a continuous-wave background in the long-wave limit. A key characteristic is that the amplitude, phase and width of obtained periodic waves change significantly with changes in the chirping and system parameters. As a very physically interesting application, we study the propagation dynamics of the newly found nonautonomous waves in the diffraction periodic distribution and decreasing systems.
