Abstract
A photoinduced copper-catalyzed enantioselective conjugate addition of acylsilanes to α,β-unsaturated ketones and aldehydes has been developed. Metal-to-ligand charge-transfer excitation of an alkene-bound acylcopper intermediate generates a triplet β-radical-C-enolate-CuII-acyl complex with an acyl radical character, which undergoes facile C−C bond formation in the copper coordination sphere. The picture represents the triplet excited state C−C bond formation as a powerful synthetic strategy. More information can be found in the Research Article by M. Gao, M. Sawamura and co-workers (DOI: 10.1002/chem.202402564).
