Abstract
A new sesquiterpenoid, 2-methyl-6-(4′-methylcyclohexa-3′-enyl)hept-2-en-4-one (1) and six known compounds with similar structures were isolated from the rhizomes of Chinese ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Zingiberaceae). The structure of this new sesquiterpenoid was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.
