The interest of this notion lies in its clinical value, which is tending to disappear in modern therapies, as the personal history of our soldiers becomes the necessary framework for attempting to heal a major existential rupture. In this way, it confers an ethical value on treatment, by respecting the symptoms of these soldiers through their specific experiences. Abstract
Our experience of working with veterans traumatized by their encounter with death has enabled us to evolve our nursing practice so as to better welcome the singular voice of the psychically wounded in a military environment.
