Abstract

After the invention of the transistor in 1947, the microelectronics world rapidly developed supporting many families of handheld devices, which could communicate seamlessly across the world. Empirically developed Moore's law started indicating the miniaturization track of digital components such as processors and memories. The semiconductor world rapidly progressed into transistor feature sizes of nanometers, and the subject of nanoelectronics has become a hot topic, predicting many new directions of “technology.”
