This stability, coupled with alarmingly high burnout rates reported in other studies, suggests that MR programs may have a protective effect worth investigating further. Abstract
This letter to the editor responds to Godfrey et al.'s study on meaningful recognition (MR) programs in nursing colleges. While the study did not demonstrate significant changes in faculty burnout metrics, it revealed stable levels of compassion satisfaction during the COVID-19 pandemic. This stability, coupled with alarmingly high burnout rates reported in other studies, suggests that MR programs may have a protective effect worth investigating further.
