Searches involved the terms 'motor neuron disease' or 'amyotrophic lateral sclerosis' and 'epidemiology', 'diagnosis', 'clinical', 'genetic', 'management', 'treatment', or 'trial'.</p><p><strong>Areas of agreement: </strong>Evidence-based management involves riluzole, multidisciplinary care, provision of noninvasive ventilation and gastrostomy, and symptomatic treatments.
