Abstract

Solvent- and catalyst-free reaction of 3-R-1H-phospholane oxides with aldehydes at 20–22 °C for 30 min gave the mixtures of four diastereomers of the corresponding 3-substituted 1-hydroxymethyl-1H-phospholane oxides in 85–98% yields.
