This article evaluates the photogenerated charge transfer mechanism and photocatalytic CO<sub>2</sub> reduction (PCR) efficacy of varied ZIS-based heterostructure catalysts. ZIS-based heterojunctions are initially classified, ensuing discourse on advanced engineering techniques enhancing heterojunction phot catalysts’ PCR functionality like co-catalyst incorporation and morphologic manipulation.
