Assistir em casa: presença das tecnologias audiovisuais e consumo no ambiente doméstico

Abstract

The presence of audiovisual artifacts in domestic environment creates different living habits. This study reflects on domestic audiovisual consumption relations during the COVID-19 pandemic. This period made the private environment more relevant and changed habits. This research explains this processes by ethnographies of reception and cultural studies theories. Information was collected by a questionnaire and interviews with residents of Curitiba, Brazil, about their television and streaming consumption habits. The pandemic changed family and spatial arrangements in the collected sample but some habits related to earlier uses remained throughout that process.
