Abstract

The properties of modern innovative textile and film materials have been studied to determine the specifics of their use in international practice and the prospects for their application in Russia. The use of advanced textile materials in architectural projects makes it possible to create structures that feature strength, rigidity, weather protection, thermal insulation, and optimal lighting. Textile materials are not inferior to traditional building materials and, in certain cases, even surpass them. The study has shown that innovative textile and film materials such as ETFE, PTFE and PVC are widely used in modern architecture. In Russia, the use of such materials in construction is increasing. Further advances in the use of textile membranes and films in Russia depend on the technological readiness and availability of materials on the market of innovative construction.
