Abstract
This study evaluated the health records management systems of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). A survey research methodology with a quantitative approach was employed using a questionnaire. The study covered the healthcare providers and medical records officers. After the employment of a two-stage sampling technique, a sample size of 394 respondents constituted the study population. Data were collected from August 2022 to June 2023. The analysis of the responses was univariate using frequency, percentage and mean. The major findings detected the successes and failures of the Manual and Electronic Health Records Management Systems, notwithstanding the overall favourable use. Moreover, the study showed a positive agreement with the seven DeLeon and McLean Model variables that measured user experience. The study recommended that the LASUTH authority needs to consciously work on curbing the concerns that are the root causes of records management challenges and the implementation of records management systems.
