The dissolution of marriage due to the unknown absence of a spouse in the second half of the 19th – early 20th centuries

Abstract

The article considers the features of divorce proceedings for one of the legally permitted reasons - the unknown absence of one of the spouses, in three provincial provinces - Tver, Tobolsk and Yaroslavl. The study analyzes the funds of spiritual consistories and presents the cases of divorce for the specified reason.
